The Bach Virtuosi Festival, a world-class concert series for lovers of the baroque repertoire, brings music to residents and visitors of southern Maine. Our concerts are held in intimate spaces,

Message from Lewis Kaplan, Director

Two years ago, I had a vision to bring the greatest baroque artists to Portland to perform the music of Johann Sebastian Bach in intimate venues. It has always been about the music! This vision met with extraordinary success from the public, the press, and the artists themselves. The vision goes on in June 2018 with the same artists, the same standards, and the same integrity to the music. Restructured under the name, Bach Virtuosi Festival, Portland will once again have world class performances of Bach played with both brilliance and love.

“Sharing the stage with Lewis Kaplan was an extraordinary experience for me. The evening was a fusion of ideas and art that was greater than the sum of our individual talents, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.”
